Managing broker accounts & updating the EA
How to add and remove broker accounts, the difference between EA and cloud accounts when you delete one, your plan's account limits, and when (and when not) the EA needs re-installing.
› EA vs cloud accounts
| EA account | Cloud account | |
|---|---|---|
| Runs on | Your own MT4/MT5 terminal | Our cloud (MetaApi), 24/7 |
| Add by | Creating an account & pasting the token into the EA | Entering broker login/password/server |
| Needs PC/VPS | Yes | No |
› Account limits per plan
Limits count EA and cloud accounts combined and are enforced automatically.
| Plan | Max broker accounts |
|---|---|
| Free / expired trial | 0 (copier locked) |
| Starter | 1 |
| Pro | 3 |
| Lifetime (EA) | 10 |
› Deleting an account
Open the account in the Signal Copier and use the remove option.
- EA account → "Delete account". Removes it from your dashboard. The EA on your terminal simply stops receiving that account's config — you can also just remove the EA from the chart.
- Cloud account → "Disconnect". Removes it and deprovisions the cloud (MetaApi) account, so it stops running and stops incurring any cost — nothing is left orphaned.
› When does the EA need re-installing or recompiling?
The EA talks to us over a secure API, so most updates happen server-side and need nothing from you.
| Change | Action needed |
|---|---|
| New website features, pricing, parsing, symbol mapping | None — server-side |
| Account settings, risk rules, channel config | None — applied live |
| A new version of the EA file (new inputs/logic) | Download the new .ex4/.ex5 and re-attach it |
You only re-install the EA when we publish a new EA build (announced on the changelog). To update: remove the old EA from the chart, copy the new file into MetaTrader's Experts folder (or use the install guide), refresh the Navigator, and re-attach. Your token and settings stay the same.
