The most-traded signal pair by retail copiers — and the one most often badly traded.
Gold is the highest-volume pair across Telegram signal channels. It moves on real macro drivers (rates, inflation, USD strength, geopolitical risk) but its high volatility and wide pip range chew through accounts that size positions like majors. Successful gold copying = correct lot sizing + session-aware filtering + tight news control.

19:00 – 21:00 UTC
Useful for reversals when London move overextends.
Setups that work
London open breakout
Wait for Asian range to break in the first 45 min of London. Stop on opposite side of range.
FVG fill from NY high/low
Mark prior-day NY high + low. When London returns to fill the FVG, enter with the H4 trend.
EMA 200 pullback
On the H1 chart, wait for pullback to the 200 EMA with momentum confirmation.
Common pitfalls
- Sizing gold like EUR/USD — gold moves 5-10× more pips in a day, so its stops are wider and the same lot risks far more. Use the position size calculator at /tools/sizer.
- Trading the spike during FOMC / NFP — 30+ pip slippage routine. News filter handles this.
- Counter-trending London open without a clear reason — biggest single source of XAUUSD losses.
Pip values & spreads
1 pip = $0.10. With 100 oz per standard lot, that is $10 per pip on 1.00 lot, $1 on 0.10 and $0.10 on 0.01. Some channels count $0.01 as a pip, so check which one a channel uses before copying its pip stops.
Raw spread accounts: about 0.5-2 pips ($0.05-$0.20) plus commission. Standard accounts: about 2-5 pips ($0.20-$0.50).
